Where is Autumn?

Yesterday we had a touch of rain, not enough to do anything but dampen the ground for a moment, and even though temperatures started in the low 40's in the morning, they were back in the 70's by afternoon. Welcome to south Texas and the land of drought. If there were a more bleak and unnapealing setting, I just don't know it. Today I am debating whether or not to put the air conditioning back on, while I type away in shorts and a T-shirt. Now it is not even bright and sunny mind you, just gray warm gloom. It is odd for most of the country to even think of your a/c going on in November, but I run mine in my car still daily. I hope the a/c compressor doesn't go out anytime soon, but if it does, by then it will be winter and probably in the mid 50's in temp. I can survive with just the windows down in that kind of weather. Please let there be rain soon....and I mean buckets!

I sure can relate--it's not that bad here, but bad enough. San Diego was a joke--santa ana winds causing temps of 95 (and hot wind!) at Christmas Yuck!
